It's been a while since we've had a LEGO floral release, so we are excited about the upcoming LEGO 10368 Chrysanthemum and LEGO 10369 Plum Blossom. August is going to be great!
The plum blossom and the chrysanthemum are part of the Four Gentlemen (Four Noble Ones) which feature frequently in traditional Chinese ink and wash paintings. The Four Gentlemen is comprised of the plum blossom, chrysanthemum, orchid and bamboo, and these represent purity, humility, perseverance and righteousness. They have been depicted in Chinese art for over a thousand years due to their beauty and moral characteristics, which the Chinese intelligentsia have attributed to them.

The LEGO 10369 Plum Tree is available for pre-order now on the official LEGO website and will ship from 1st August 2024. It's reasonably priced at $29.99 and comes with 327 beautifully coloured bricks. What really makes this set special is the pastel-blue flowerpot (which the new LEGO 10368 Chrysanthemum also features but in green).

The plum tree bursts into life with its blossoms in winter. Although the trees and the blossoms are not aesthetically impressive, they display a beautiful elegance during the bleakness of winter. Therefore, the plum tree's bearing and character are a metaphor for hidden beauty and a timorous display during inauspicious times.

The LEGO 10368 Chrysanthemum is available for pre-order now on the official LEGO website and will ship from August 1, 2024. It's reasonably priced at $29.99 and comes with 278 vividly orange pieces. The petals and leaves are poseable allowing for a highly customizable and realistic floral display.

As mentioned above, the chrysanthemum is also highly revered in traditional Chinese art. It blooms in cold autumn air and announces the onset of winter, symbolising the resolve to withstand all misfortunes. Tao Yuanming was a famous figure within the Chinese literati culture, and the chrysanthemum was his favourite flower.
