Build Review of LEGO Icons Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook (10351)

Build Review of LEGO Icons Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook (10351)

Book nooks are like a glimpse into a miniature world hiding on your bookcase, and that fits perfectly with the scaled-down scenes that can be built using LEGO.

LEGO Icons Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook (10351) is one of the newest nooks in LEGO's line-up, which we featured in our LEGO Round-Up June 2025 PART ONE.

LEGO Sherlock Holmes Book Nook Minifigs

It's an incredibly detailed build, with 1,359 pieces packed into a set the size of a hardback and about 12cm thick when 'closed' for bookshelf display.

Join us for a deep-dive into the build process. Spoiler alert - we loved it!

What's the build process like?

Price: £109.99

Release date: Available now

Pieces: 1,359

Size: 21 x 37 x 6cm (H x W x D when opened)

LEGO Insiders points: 880

This is a 10-bag build with 318 steps, ending with the 'Baker Street' nameplate at the top of the front face of the finished book nook.

It's aimed at adults, but despite the intricate details inside, it's not actually too difficult or fiddly, and experienced younger builders would probably do just fine.

LEGO Sherlock Holmes Book Nook Building First Bag

There's an interesting mix of build techniques. From assembling the characters, to building the interiors, to constructing the 'cover' of the book and an iconic Sherlock Holmes silhouette, it's certainly not repetitive.

Our impressions of the build

LEGO Sherlock Holmes Book Nook Building Elementary Book Shop's 2nd Story

We found this build process fun throughout. There's SO much going on inside the book nook, such as the revolving window display in the Victorian bookstore, and the secret doorway to enter Professor Moriarty's villain hideout.

Sherlock's study is jam-packed with details too, including the great detective's famous violin, and a wall covered with clues from his latest investigation.

It's great that this set also includes five iconic LEGO Minifigures, such as Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson, Professor Moriarty, Irene Adler and a street urchin character named Paige.

What are the problem points?

LEGO Sherlock Holmes Book Nook Finished Build

Honestly, it's hard to find faults with this set. It's a very 'open' design - there's no top or back - so you might want to add a mirror or printed background, or even add a 'roof' with lights, if you're a confident model-maker.

It's also worth taking your time and pressing everything firmly into place. One of the last steps is to add the Sherlock silhouette cover art to the outside of the book, and you don't want anything popping off at the last moment.

But those are minor nitpicks with what is generally a near-perfect LEGO build. We found it enjoyable throughout, and didn't encounter any significant problems with assembly.

Wondering How to Display LEGO Icons Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook (10351)?

LEGO Sherlock Holmes Book Nook Display Cases iDisplayit

Our iDisplayit custom display case for LEGO 10351 is the perfect way to protect this open‑sided book nook while keeping every interior detail visible. The clear acrylic panels prevent dust from settling on Sherlock’s study, the Victorian bookshop window, or Moriarty’s hidden doorway, while the sturdy base keeps the set secure on your shelf.

Whether you display it opened to reveal the full scene or closed like a real hardback, the case turns this intricate build into a standout bookshelf centrepiece.

Final Thoughts

LEGO Sherlock Holmes Book Nook Cover Page

First of all, let's take a moment to appreciate LEGO book nooks in general. They're the perfect combination of our favourite brick-building pastime and the on-trend art of book nooks.

It's no surprise that they're becoming a frequent addition to LEGO's line-up. Some other recent releases include:

OK, that last one isn't technically a book nook, but the LEGO Wicked scenes hiding inside each bookend make them both very nook-like in their own right.

We also love that there's a clear literature tie-in for each set, whether it's JK Rowling's Harry Potter, Tolkien's classic fantasy trilogy, or the supersleuth crime mysteries of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
