The new LEGO Nike theme hit the ground running in July with the launch of LEGO Nike Dunk x LEGO Set (43008). It's a beautiful LEGO bookcase display set that combines several modular builds into a finished Nike Dunk plaque - it's not strictly a LEGO 3-in-1 set, but in a lot of ways it feels like one.
Some sneaky hidden compartments, different coloured shoelace elements and a spinning basketball give this set more long-term enjoyment than a typical LEGO display set, and that's why it's not just for over-18 builders.

Let's look at what you get, the build process and the finished result. This is a really satisfying and vibrant set. The pictures don't do it justice - if you can get your hands on one of your own, you definitely should!

Price: $99.99
Release date: Available now
Age: 10+
Pieces: 1,180
LEGO Minifigures: 1 (Exclusive B'Ball Head Minifigure)
Size: 25 x 38 x 13cm (H x W x D)
LEGO Insiders points: 650
This is a strange but cool set that includes a Dunk plaque, a Nike trainer with coloured laces, and a spinning brick-built basketball, all assembled into an awesome-looking shelf or mantelpiece display set.

You get 10 bags of bricks and three separate sets of building instructions:
That means you can easily split up the build into three separate sessions, or share the experience with two friends or family members. With a target age of 10+, this would be a fantastic family project for Christmas or a weekend at home.
It's a 1,180-piece build in total, with some cute features we'll look at below, and an exclusive LEGO Minifigure in the form of the quirky B'Ball Head Minifigure.
This is a very enjoyable build overall. It's age-appropriate, but there's enough in there to make the process equally satisfying for adult builders.

Although there are some stickers to apply, they're easy to position, so younger builders should be able to align them with a bit of care. They might need some supervision to get everything spot-on, but we found all the stickers easy to place without a struggle.
The build in general feels really solid. The pieces are secure and nothing feels fiddly to the point of falling off - just a solid build for all ages. And it looks GREAT as part of a LEGO mantelpiece display!
We like the hidden features of this set. It's not just a really awesome LEGO display set; it also has a few tricks up its sleeve.

The brick-built Nike trainer has a secret compartment in the toe, which hides an alternative colour of brick 'laces'. You can switch these out to choose green or blue laces on your finished Nike sneaker.
Lift the trainer's tongue and there's more storage space inside, suitable for stashing small items like ear buds, or even to use this set as a well-disguised piggy bank.

Inside the heel, there's a hidey-hole for the B'Ball Head Minifigure, to keep him safe while he's not standing out as part of your LEGO bookshelf display.
The attention given to the build, not only to leave these internal spaces, but also to make them easy to access, is a really nice touch. And it doesn't take anything away from how solid and aesthetically pleasing the finished sneaker is.
We couldn't really find any problem points with this set - it was a delight to build from start to finish.
It's worth knowing that the B'Ball Head Minifigure comes in bag 3, which is part of the sneaker build. So if you're working on this set as a family, you might want to make sure the right person opens bag 3 so they can be the one to 'find' the Minifigure.

Young builders might need some help getting the stickers just right, although we found those quite easy to place. The basketball is also a bit fiddly as there are obviously curved surfaces to work with, which can take a slightly different way of thinking about things.

The basketball itself deserves a mention - it cleverly hides a LEGO Technic axle piece which slots into the Dunk plaque. This allows the basketball to rotate in place like a globe, which is a really nice touch. It's not motorised, but it probably could be, if you're a Technic enthusiast and you feel like adapting the build yourself.

We found this set even more appealing in real life than in the photos - the eye-catching plaque, the colourful Nike trainer and the 'rolling' basketball are all great individual elements, and they combine to make a fantastic LEGO bookshelf display, with B'Ball Head Minifigure standing alongside.
If you're looking to protect your finished build, iDisplayit has the perfect LEGO mantelpiece display case for LEGO Nike Dunk x LEGO Set (43008). There's room inside for the Minifigure, but they've got you covered if you want a B'Ball Head Minifigure display case too.
Overall, we're really impressed with this set, which is the perfect way to kick off the LEGO Nike theme. It looks fantastic on its own, but it would look even better as the centrepiece in between LEGO Nike Slam Dunk (43010) and LEGO Nike Dunk Trickshot (43021), which both launched in September 2025.
