Motorsport racing fans looking for a distinctively un-Christmassy and non-festive palette cleanser now the big day and New Year's Eve have ended may want to head to the cinema to catch Michael Mann's new biopic based on the life of maverick motor mogul Enzo Ferrari.

Starring increasingly well-respected actor Adam Driver (who portrayed Kylo Ren in Star Wars) as the automotive master-in-chief, the movie explores Enzo's life in a track-smoking story of money, death and high-octane racing.

Ferrari is now available to see on the big screen following its UK Boxing Day release (Christmas Day in the US).

Ferrari takes place during the summer of 1957, as tempestuous ex-racer Enzo Ferrari sees the car company he founded with his wife, Laura Ferrari (portrayed by Penélope Cruz), struggle in the face of bankruptcy and a problematic marriage. Ultimately, he stakes everything on the outcome of one iconic and fateful race "“ the 1,000-mile "˜Mille Miglia' contest across Italy.
