LEGO Celebrates The Year Of The Snake January 2025

The new year is approaching quicker than we care to accept, but LEGO has announced three sets to celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival, which will be released on January 1st 2025. As with the previous years' releases, one of these is a build-together set, which is a great way to get the family together to celebrate the Year of the Snake.

LEGO 80116 Trotting Lantern

LEGO 80116 is a beautiful brick-built replica of a "revolving lantern." An original lantern requires heat to rotate the inside images, and the flame provides both the heat and the light to bring the lantern to life. This LEGO version includes a light brick to simulate the flame of old, which is activated by pressing the central column down. The lantern includes several alternative silhouette windows that can create alternative lighting effects.

The 1,295 pieces don't just create a gorgeous exterior, the top of the lantern is removable and then the top layer opens out to reveal three scenes. The three segments are depictions of typical festive settings for this holiday:
