LEGO have revealed the latest LEGO Ideas set, which will soon be available in-store and online - Family Tree 21346.
This visually intricate model is an artistic, abstract interpretation of a traditional family tree, offering collectors a 3D "˜canvas' to add memories, mementoes and trinkets over time that connect to their family history.
The new set is based on the grand-prize-winning entry, 'Your Family Tree', initially conceived by LEGO Ideas member Bulldoozer. Bulldoozer explains that the idea came from a tree-shaped mural at home that their family regularly adds photographic memories to, with spare branches maintained for new family members who come along.
Let's take a closer look at the new set now the official LEGO design has entered production.

This beautiful LEGO memory tree is available to pre-order now, with a release date of 1st February 2024.
The new Ideas set is priced at $79.99 - see it on the LEGO Store.
The buildable family tree clocks in at 1,040 pieces.
There are no minifigures included. However, the original Ideas entry did include a family of minifigures gathered around the base, which would have made a nice touch.
Head over to minifigs.me, where you can create your own customised family minifigures instead!

There's plenty to take in with this customisable Family Tree decoration. The tree includes 16 hanging branch holders, designed to hold memories in the form of photos, written messages and similar paper mementoes. The tree is primarily intended to be turned into a rich tapestry of family history, but thanks to the set's flexibility, it can be personalised for use in numerous ways. You can just as easily use it as a personal memory tree, holding snaps of your friends, favourite holidays or other special events. It could even be used to collect ticket stubs from gigs and shows.

The grass-coloured tree base contains a hidden storage compartment filled with a huge number of brick accessory elements. The selection includes season-specific foliage, bird boxes, butterflies, and flowers to place on the ground or within the tree itself. It is rare to see a LEGO set include such a large range of pieces intended for collectors to personalise their model, and it will be interesting to see how collectors use them. Elements from other sets could also just as easily be added to the base or branches. Got a LEGO Minifigure that means a lot to you? Place them below the tree to guard the 'Our Family' nameplate.
The LEGO Ideas Family Tree 21346 is a set clearly intended to be enjoyed by a wide range of age groups, from younger builders to adults and grandparents. We expect it to be a popular LEGO birthday and anniversary gift to adults in 2024, and we're looking forward to seeing how fans choose to decorate their brick-built ornament.
