When LEGO hosts a World Premiere for a new set, you know it's got to be something big. The live stream on September 4th didn't disappoint, with the new LEGO Star Wars Death Star (75419) top of the billing.

In front of a global live stream audience of over 10,000 viewers, LEGO debuted the new Star Wars Death Star (75419) on Thursday, September 4th - exactly four months since the traditional Star Wars Day on 'May the 4th', and one month before the set's general release date.

This record-breaking set is the biggest LEGO Star Wars build ever, with over 9,000 pieces recreating all of the main rooms seen on screen. It weighs in at over 8kg, with a narrow 27cm footprint that makes it ideal for a mantelpiece or bookshelf LEGO display.

You also get a record-breaking number of LEGO Star Wars Minifigures included, with 38 characters in total. Some are unique to this product, while others are updated designs of old favourites like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.

Packed with Easter Eggs

This is not just a spectacular display piece - it's also a fun play set packed with movie references and other Easter Eggs, which gives it a huge widespread appeal across different age groups.

Among the light-hearted touches is a bulletin board with 'wanted' posters featuring some familiar faces, plus a very tongue-in-cheek advertisement for Stormtrooper target practice lessons!

One other cute touch (believe it or not...) is the Emperor Palpatine LEGO Minifigure. Originally set to appear in bag 67-68 of the build, the designers made some tweaks to ensure he arrives in bag 66 instead, a subtle reference to Order 66 from the movies.
