LEGO Theme Reveal "“ Animal Crossing

Hot off the press "“ LEGO have today revealed a new upcoming LEGO theme based on Animal Crossing, the popular Nintendo game series.

The reveal was made on Instagram, with a short video showing a row of game characters in LEGO Minifigure form. From left to right, we see Rosie, Bunnie, Marshall, Kappa, Fauna, Mayor Isabelle, and dastardly entrepreneur Tom Nook. The new theme is expected to arrive in 2024, bringing a wave of excitement and anticipation regarding which locations and buildings could be realised as brick-built models.

What Is Animal Crossing?

Animal Crossing is a charming life simulation video game series in which players assume the role of a customisable human character who moves to a peaceful, anthropomorphic, animal-inhabited village. The core of the game is to engage in various activities and tasks while fostering a sense of community and creativity.

Players can explore their idyllic surroundings, interact with the endearing animal villagers, and undertake various activities, such as fishing, bug catching, fossil hunting, and gardening. These tasks help players earn in-game currency known as "˜Bells', which can be used to develop their village. The game also mirrors real-world time, with day and night cycles resulting in unique events and happenings.

Animal Crossing has garnered a dedicated fan base due to its relaxing and wholesome gameplay, soothing soundtrack, and endearing characters. The series has seen several iterations, including Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which introduced even more customisation options.

What Animal Crossing LEGO Sets Are Being Released?

The short teaser video has not revealed anything besides the game characters in minifigure form. Still, it's fun to speculate which locations could become LEGO sets once the theme sees its first releases.

Here are a few of our favourite places in the game we would love to see:

1. Main Street: The central hub of the town, where players can find various shops, including the Able Sisters clothing store and Nook's Homes.
   
   
2. The Beach: A relaxing coastal spot surrounding the town where players can collect seashells, catch unique fish, and watch for special events, like Gulliver's visits.
   
   
3. The Museum: A key location where players can donate fossils, fish, insects, and works of art.
   
   
4. Tom Nook's Store: The hub store where you can purchase and sell items, buy furniture, and upgrade your house.
   
   
5. The Roost: A special café run by Brewster where players can enjoy a cup of coffee, listen to music, and interact with various characters. First seen in Animal Crossing: Wild World.
   
   
6. The Plaza: The communal hub of the village, where events and celebrations take place, including festivals, birthdays, and other special occasions.
   
   
7. Harv's Island: Introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. A unique location where players can take photos and invite special characters for photoshoots.
