LEGO French Cafe 10362 is a 1,101-piece set for adults and experienced builders, and it has some design features we absolutely love.

Top of the list is the flat back, which is specifically designed to put French Cafe on display on a shelf (at 6cm deep, we think this one would also work great in a wall-mounted display case).

But that's just the start, as this food-themed scene has so many more selling points to share:

• A brick-built pavement surround with a classic streetlamp
• An ornate shopfront with signage, hanging baskets and bistro furniture
• Mouth-watering elements including croissants, desserts and cups of coffee/chocolate
• Working double doors to reveal a glimpse of the slimline interior
• Interactive 3D assembly instructions via the LEGO Builder app

It's an elegantly designed set suitable for a home office or grown-up bedroom display, but we think it will have huge appeal to younger builders too, and a few LEGO Minifigures will quickly bring it to life.

Why we love LEGO 10362 French Cafe

This set is a strong start to LEGO Restaurants of the World and gives us high hopes for what the rest of the collection has in store.

LEGO describe it as "bookshelf decor", but it's much more versatile than that. It would look great in a wall-mounted LEGO display case or as part of a larger street build (perhaps as the next LEGO Restaurants of the World sets are released).

French Cafe captures some of the same spirit as the retired LEGO Creator Expert Parisian Restaurant 10243, but on a smaller scale, making it perfect for a home office or a child's bedroom.

The interior is limited due to the set being only 6cm deep, but there's enough in there to give you a peek when you open the frosted front doors.
