New LEGO Christmas Sets Start the Countdown to Brickmas!

It's the time of year when new LEGO Christmas sets and 2025 LEGO Advent Calendars start to drop, so if you're planning a LEGO-themed 'Brickmas' of your own, here's our preview of some of the seasonal sets that go on sale in October.

And if you're looking for details of all the new LEGO Advent Calendars for 2025, plus some LEGO Christmas decorations for your tree or table, you can find those in our LEGO 2025 Advent Calendars deep-dive.

LEGO Star Wars Gingerbread AT-AT Walker (40806)

gingerbread darth vader lego set 2025

Price: $59.99

Release date: October 1st 2025

Age: 10+

Pieces: 697

LEGO Minifigures: 1 (Gingerbread Darth Vader)

Size: 19 x 23 x 10cm (H x L x W)

LEGO Insiders points: 390

It's all about the epic space saga this month with the unveiling of the 9,023-piece LEGO Death Star (75419) and the droid-filled LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2025 (75418).

But we've got a soft spot for the half-baked Christmas creation that is LEGO Star Wars Gingerbread AT-AT Walker (40806).

It's a posable AT-AT Walker with a cockpit and main compartment that open up to reveal a cosy Christmassy interior, with a fireside seat where the special edition Gingerbread Darth Vader LEGO Minifigure can celebrate Sithmas.

On the outside, the AT-AT is clad in gingerbread, frosting and colourful candy elements, creating a quirky seasonal aesthetic for this set.

This daft design embraces the Dork Side of the Force and honestly, we're here for it. An amazing piece for festive playtime or as the star of a LEGO Star Wars Christmas table display.

Pair it with a custom iDisplayit display case to keep your Gingerbread AT-AT safe from stray crumbs and curious Ewoks. It’s the perfect way to show off your sweet Star Wars spirit while keeping your festive masterpiece looking fresh all season long.

LEGO Festive Gingerbread House (40809)

Price: $39.99

Release date: October 1st 2025

Age: 10+

Pieces: 498

LEGO Minifigures: 1 (Santa Claus)

Size: 15 x 12.5 x 11.5cm (H x W x D)

LEGO Insiders points: 260

If you prefer gingerbread builds that can't blast you with their chin guns, you're in luck, as there's also the brand-new LEGO Festive Gingerbread House (40809).

This is a MUCH more traditional design, with a similar aesthetic of gingerbread walls, icing trim and coloured candy decorations.

Inside, there are cute interiors of Santa's bedroom, writing desk, fireplace and kitchen, plus a Santa Claus LEGO Minifigure to move around the house.

We're impressed by the versatility of this set, which can be a single house centrepiece for your LEGO Christmas table display, or opens out to form the fronts of two neighbouring houses instead - perfect for a festive LEGO bookshelf display with a Minifigure street scene in front.

You could even combine it with the Gingerbread AT-AT Walker as if the house is under attack, since the finished AT-AT figure stands nearly two inches taller than the chimney on the house.

LEGO Up-Scaled Santa Minifigure (40820)

Price: $54.99

Release date: October 1st 2025

Age: 10+

Pieces: 761

LEGO Minifigures: 1 very big Santa!

Size: Over 27cm (10.5 inches) tall

LEGO Insiders points: 357

If anyone can take down a Gingerbread AT-AT, it's LEGO Up-Scaled Santa Minifigure (40820). At over 27cm tall, he is anything BUT mini!

Up-scaled Minifigures are always awesome. The way they keep their petite proportions, just on a massive scale, brings home the cuteness every time, and Up-Scaled Santa delivers in true Santa style.

Like a regular Minifigure, Up-Scaled Santa has posable arms and swivel legs that allow the figure to sit or stand. Either way, the sturdy build helps to make sure he's stable on his feet.

There's no hidden interiors or secret easter eggs with this set - it's all about the fun of building it - but it's an eye-catching LEGO table display centrepiece or a colourful character to stand under your Christmas tree this holiday season.

LEGO Icons Holiday Express Train (10361)

Price: $129.99

Release date: October 4th 2025 (LEGO Insiders early access October 1st)

Age: 18+

Pieces: 956

LEGO Minifigures: 4 (Driver, Conductor and two Passengers)

Size: 13 x 49 x 7cm (H x L x W)

LEGO Insiders points: 845

LEGO Icons Holiday Express Train (10361) is a traditional Christmas tree train with a circular track that can skirt the bottom of your tree (until it's hopefully hidden by presents on Christmas Eve!).

It's a vibrant build with plenty of detail, so it should stand out even among all the lights and decorations on your tree.

Nearly 1,000 pieces assemble to create the steam train engine, coal tender, flatbed wagon and rear end carriage. You can't miss the wagon-riding, bell-ringing, brick-built polar bear, arguably the star of the show!

There are a few things worth knowing about this set. While the train is not powered as standard, you can connect a LEGO Powered Up kit to motorise it and have it drive laps of the circular track.

It's also a historic moment in LEGO production: Holiday Express Train (10361) is the first mass-market LEGO set to include a 3D printed element, a blue miniature toy train that looks like a scaled-down version of the set's full-size locomotive.

What do we think?

There's so much variety even in just these four sets, it could be hard to choose what to order between now and October 1st.

Up-Scaled Santa is a fantastic LEGO Christmas display option. Stand him almost anywhere and his bright red suit will catch the eye of visitors and provide a seasonal talking point.

The Gingerbread House and Holiday Express Train could combine to start your LEGO Christmas village display - or work alongside existing sets in the LEGO Winter Village Collection, which also receives an annual update in the run-up to Christmas.

Personally, I'm a fan of the Gingerbread AT-AT Walker. It's fun and festive, and an unexpected addition to the usually strait-laced LEGO Star Wars theme. It's worth it just to see Gingerbread Darth Vader carrying a candy cane instead of a Lightsaber.

What will you be building as you start your LEGO Christmas display in the weeks to come?
