"Then at last his gaze was held: wall upon wall, battlement upon battlement, black tower of adamant, he saw it: Barad-dur, fortress of Sauron. All hope left him."
The Fellowship of the Ring, "The Breaking of the Fellowship"

Finally, the announcement we've all been eagerly awaiting since 2013 when we got our hands on the LEGO 10237 LOTR Tower Of Orthanc. This 10333 Lord Of The Rings Barad-dûr LEGO Icons set is on general release on 4th June 2024 and has early access for LEGO Insiders from 1st June - 3rd June 2024, retailing at $459.99. Let's look at what these 5,471 pieces will enable us to build.

There are five floors to this 83cm tall, impressively ominous fortress, so let's start at the ground floor. Gollum's hideout, a weapons forge, and a prison equipped with a raisable Orc cage are located on the ground floor.
Sneaking up to the first floor, we discover a large dining area complete with plenty of food and a keg. After having had a quick snack, we tip-toed along to the second floor where we discovered a throne hiding a map of Middle Earth inside it, which was a welcome find.
Hesitantly, we made our way quietly to the third floor to discover The Mouth Of Sauron's Study. We fled from the study upwards towards the final floor, where we found the tower library and a useful rotating ladder. We escaped from the tower via the automated black gate and couldn't help but marvel at the illuminated Eye Of Sauron (it really is a sight to behold as it looks over Mordor).

The LEGO ICONS 10333 Lord Of The Rings Barad-dur comes with ten LEGO Minifigures; Frodo Baggins, Gothmog, Gollum, Mouth of Sauron, Orc Blacksmith, x3 Orcs, Sam and Sauron. There are a myriad of film-related accessories, including the one ring, the light of Elendil, and Sauron's Mace, plus there are also armour accessories. The armour accessories include Mouth of Sauron's helmet as well as Sauron's helmet.

There is a GWP to accompany purchases of LEGO ICONS 10333 made between June 1st and June 7th, 2024, and that is the 269-piece LEGO 40693 Lord Of the Rings Fell Beast.
The Fell Beast, also known as a Hell Hawk or Nazgul Bird, is beautifully recreated in LEGO with poseable wings and joints. There is a Nazgul LEGO Minifigure that can ride upon the stinking steed back as he stands upon the remains of Usgiliath.
LEGO ICONS 10333 Lord of The Rings Barad-dur is on general release on 4th June 2024, but LEGO Insiders can purchase it from the 1st June 2024 - 3rd June 2024. See the official announcement on the LEGO website.
