The new 2026 LEGO Tower Bridge (21067) has landed, but how does it compare with the 2010 LEGO Tower Bridge (10214)?

New for 2026, LEGO Architecture Tower Bridge (21067) is the first standalone build of the London landmark since 2010's LEGO Creator Expert Tower Bridge (10214).

On paper, the two sets are pretty similar - we'll compare their specs below. So what can you expect from the 2026 LEGO Tower Bridge, and how does it stack up against the 2010 version?

Before we go any further, let's take a look at those specifications and see just how similar these sets are...

There's not a lot in it, but the new LEGO Tower Bridge for 2026 is a little bit smaller, with 13% fewer pieces. It's also aimed at a slightly older age group, although that's typical of present-day Adults Welcome LEGO display sets.

In terms of price, the RRP has increased by £50 or about 23% compared with the 2010 set. Allow for inflation though, and the old set would cost £80 more than the 2026 LEGO Tower Bridge, swinging the balance to 23% in the other direction.

With the size dimensions down by between 13 and 27%, the main thing we can say is that the price-per-piece ratio is better on the new set in present-day money, and the 2026 Tower Bridge LEGO set is more detailed in terms of pieces vs size.

Let's take a look at LEGO Architecture Tower Bridge (21067) in its own right, and it is a beauty of a LEGO display set with some absolute stand-out features.

The towers themselves are gorgeous, and the mighty stone-clad piers are appropriately imposing on this build, giving the whole bridge a sense of scale.

Bright blue and white pieces help the ironwork to stand out, creating some helpful contrast when displaying the set, although it's a shame the red details on the real-life bridge haven't been recreated here.

It's also strange that the pitched roofs on the tops of the towers have been given a sand green colour scheme. This is likely a nod to the Westmorland Green slate on the real-life roofs, but a silvery grey would have been a closer match.

Features and Functions

The finished build features the iconic towers, the suspension walkway between their tops, and the blue suspension girders that curve down to the roadway. The roadway itself is flanked by blue and white ironwork, with a microscale red London double decker bus and several tiny cars.

Under the bridge, there's a watery blue base to represent the River Thames. This is a huge improvement over the 2010 set, which just had blue studs beneath it. The 2026 version looks much more like water (although we're not sure the Thames has ever been THAT blue!)

The real stars of the show are the bascules - those are the central road sections that raise up to allow tall ships to pass. Cleverly, they can be left raised without falling, so you can display LEGO Tower Bridge 21067 in the open position.

If we look back in time to 2010, LEGO Creator Expert Tower Bridge (10214) was remarkably detailed for its time and still has a near-perfect 4.8 stars in LEGO.com customer ratings.

Builders praised its size, piece count, and the duration of the build, all of which will no doubt apply to the new set, given the similar stats. Both sets do feature a good amount of repetition, ideal if you're in full focus mode, but potentially tedious for some people.

It's hard to find fault with such a highly rated set, but if we have to pick out a few minor gripes, we will...

Areas for Improvement

Despite its size, the 2010 LEGO Tower Bridge set lacks impact. The piers are small and grey instead of their warm tan color. The towers feel too tall and close together, which makes the walkway look too high.

We've already mentioned the River Thames base, which was just blue plates with exposed studs. It was too strong a color and drew the eye away from the pale tan and light grey of the bridge itself.

Finally, it's a shame that neither set includes the flags that traditionally fly over the suspended walkway. These could be simple printed flags like on LEGO Titanic (10294) which already has a Union Jack. A printed Flag of the City of London would be an amazing finishing touch to end both builds.

Final Thoughts

We love displaying LEGO sets, and this is one set that truly deserves to be put on display. It's so big, what else are you going to do but show it off?

Suspension bridges are notoriously hard to recreate with LEGO, and Tower Bridge's suspension girders are a unique challenge. The 2010 set probably did that part better, and it would be an interesting MOC project to find a more realistic method on the 2026 bridge.

The Union Jack and City of London flags would be a fantastic addition too. Apart from those very minor wish-list items, we're very happy to see an update of an all-time iconic set, so a new generation can get stuck into building this stunning London landmark.
