Saddle up for the Year of the Horse, which started on February 17th 2026. You might know it as Chinese New Year or by the more general term, Lunar New Year. But to builders, it's best known as LEGO Spring Festival 2026.
As usual, there were new LEGO Spring Festival sets to celebrate the incoming Year of the Fire Horse, a great Lunar New Year GWP, and an old favourite that's still worth mentioning.
We love seasonal LEGO sets, whether they're limited editions or long-term additions to the LEGO Shop line-up. So what's in-store in the run-up to Chinese New Year 2026? Let's take a look...

This versatile LEGO wall display landed on January 1st as part of the LEGO Lunar New Year 2026 releases, and it's a fantastic introduction for younger builders to experience a set that is fun to play with AND looks great hanging up.
LEGO Spring Festival 2026 Fortune Firecracker (80118) offers great value with over 1,000 pieces, which assemble to create eight firecrackers that make a crackling effect when moved. The circular section up top opens to reveal your choice of two scenes: a firework display, or 'God of Fortune'.
Unusually for a LEGO wall display set, there are six minifigures: one adult, two children, two grandparents, and the God of Fortune. Along with their accessories, these can be placed into the two celebration scenes for imaginative play.
With no horses to be seen, this could easily be part of the 2027 LEGO Spring Festival line-up for the Year of the Goat too. So if you're looking for a set you can put up for future Chinese New Year festivities, this is an excellent place to start.

If you prefer a LEGO coffee table display or you want something that is specific to the Year of the Horse, LEGO Spring Festival 2026 Galloping Horses Canvas (80119) is a visually stunning masterpiece.
Again, this 1,650-piece set is amazing value for the price, and its intricate shapes will be hugely satisfying for younger builders (and for adult builders too!). The completed scene features a blue and gold base with four brick-built galloping horses, whose legs move when you turn a crank handle on the side.
Behind them hangs a traditional 'brush painted' canvas with another four horses - making a 'lucky' total of eight horses seen in the finished set. Alongside stands a mini scene with a LEGO Minifigure painter working on a scaled-down version of the canvas, as well as a costumed Year of the Horse Minifigure.
The attention to detail is great - we really love this build. We'd love to see the movement automated by a LEGO Technic expert, or if you're lucky enough to own LEGO Lord of the Rings Rivendell (10316), add these galloping horses into a Ford of Bruinen MOC with LEGO Minifigure Arwen standing alongside!

Completing the trio of LEGO Spring Festival 2026 new sets is Fortune Master (40864) which is the budget-friendly and beginner-friendly option in this year's line-up. At just under 400 pieces and measuring 4-5 inches on all three sides, it's a cute and compact LEGO bookshelf display for Lunar New Year.
Again, there's nothing horse-specific about this set, so you can bring it out year after year. It features a brick-built Fortune Master character surrounded by lucky symbols including coins, red envelopes and other treasures.
Open the barrel to reveal alternative eyes - three sets in total - allowing you to customise Fortune Master's facial expression with eyes open, lightly closed or tightly closed. Lots of red and gold make this bargain build a great addition to any LEGO Spring Festival display.

For a Gift With Purchase it has a lot to offer: nearly 500 pieces, two detailed lion parade costumes, and four LEGO Minifigures to place inside. It would make the perfect start to a larger Lunar New Year street parade scene or as a sidekick to 2019's LEGO Spring Festival Dragon Dance (80102).

Our feline finale for this year's round-up is actually one of last year's sets. LEGO Spring Festival 2025 Lucky Cat (40813) is still available and is so adorable you'll want to keep it in your LEGO shelf display all year round!
The finished build is a traditional Lucky Cat figure in every sense, right down to the pendulum action of its swinging paw. Its smiling face is packed with personality, with closed eyes, gold whiskers and blushing cheeks that match its pink nose and paw pads.
You can customise the finished figurine with a choice of 'good fortune' wish or gold coin decoration to attach to Lucky Cat's tummy. We don't know how much longer this set will be available - so add it to your LEGO Chinese New Year 2026 order and make sure you don't miss out!
