We know how stressful it can be to kit the kids out to get ready for the new academic year. They've outgrown everything; the backpack isn't cool anymore, and the drink bottle has been discovered growing a new lifeform in the back of the closet. Don't worry, we feel your feel pain.
We have a checklist of items you may need and even handy links to purchase them. Make a cup of your favourite beverage and shop from the sofa; no more trekking around the mall with the other discouraged parents and fed-up children.
This is by no means a comprehensive list of items that your little cherubs may need (want), but hopefully, it may remind you to check on the condition/whereabouts of some things.
Backpacks, rucksacks, holdalls, or whatever you call them, are essential to a kids' school day. Kids can decide to be friends based on each other's school receptacles, so getting the right one is necessary! The LEGO website has a great selection of backpacks for boys and girls (one of our office members uses one too):
If they are too old for LEGO backpacks (no one ever is!), then check out the pop culture-related bags that Zavvi have for sale:
Keeping those sandwiches from getting squashed is an important task, and we've found some lunchboxes that we think your kids will love. From the LEGO website:
Zooming back over to Zavvi for safe snack transportation:
We all know the importance of drinking sufficient water every day, we've all had a bottle leak in our bags too! The LEGO website doesn't have a vast number of options, but they do the job of liquid carriers:
For the bigger kids (adults, too) in your life, Zavvi has a small selection of portable beverage containers:
LEGO produces some jazzy pencil cases to store your stationery in, they are available in a variety of colours, and we have picked a couple here for you to view:
Zavvi offers a nice selection of notepads that even the coolest kid in school would be proud to be seen writing in. There are also some cool pencil cases available too:
Granted, younger kids may not need a keyring (maybe just to identify their bag), but older kids could require one for locker or door keys. We think the LEGO keyrings with the torches in the feet are a great idea, as they can help look in the darkest corners of bags for lost POGs. Sorry, wrong era!
If your child tends to lose keys on keyrings, how about a lanyard? Zavvi has a few of these that are cool:
We hope this helps a little bit with the back-to-school panic. Unfortunately, we can't help with the uniform, but good luck. The force is strong with the parents.
