New Stan Lee Documentary Arrives On Disney+ On 16th June

The legendary Stan Lee sadly passed away back in 2018, leaving behind a lifetime legacy of creative achievement in the world of comic books, superhero franchises and film media.

Now, in celebration of the godfather of modern comic books, Disney+ will be airing a comprehensive, film-length documentary on Stan Lee's life on 16^th June 2023.

After joining Timely Comics (a small family-run business) in 1939, Stan Lee oversaw the company's eventual rise to become Marvel Comics in the 1960s.

As a brand, Marvel is one of the most recognisable names in the world of nerd culture and superhero media, mainly thanks to Stan Lee's stewardship of the company until his retirement in 2001. Following this, he continued to make frequent appearances at comic book conventions and on TV. He even starred in movies in short, Hitchcock-esque cameos. What Will The New Stan Lee Documentary Film Be About?

The new documentary was directed by David Gelb and recently debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Celebrating "100 years of Stan Lee", the film traces Stan's life from his childhood in New York through the founding of Marvel Comics and beyond.

Using his own words, rare archive material and interviews with the people who knew and worked with him, the documentary aims to present a comprehensive account of this legendary figure.

Stan Lee, an Original documentary, represents Marvel Entertainment's first foray into documentary filmmaking and promises to be an essential and informative watch for any Marvel superfans out there. Check out the original teaser trailer for the new film back in January.
