Teaser Trailers Premiere for Wicked + Deadpool & Wolverine

In our recent article, The Best Sci-Fi & Fantasy Films Coming Out In 2024, we discussed two hotly-anticipated movies "“ Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine and WICKED, a film adaptation of the long-running stage show set in the world of The Wizard of Oz.

Both upcoming releases have now seen their first teaser trailers released online, revealing more about the plot and what to expect from each franchise. Enthusiasts have also begun to speculate whether LEGO may have teased a new Wicked set following a cryptic tweet published during the American Super Bowl.

Deadpool & Wolverine | Official Teaser | In Theatres July 26^th, 2024

The Deadpool & Wolverine teaser officially premiered at this year's Super Bowl, giving us a taste of Ryan Reynolds' humorous, cynical mercenary as he breaks into the sacred Marvel timeline in the world's first movie crossover of X-Men and the wider MCU. This latest delve into the conceptual "˜multiverse' will see our hero team up with the legendary Wolverine to alter the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever.

We're excited to see what this latest adventure will set up for future Avengers/MCU instalments. For now, there's plenty to digest in the teaser trailer above.

WICKED | Official Teaser | In Theatres November 27^th, 2024

This upcoming fantasy film is based on the musical of the same name, which serves as a prequel and reimagining of L. Frank Baum's classic novel and the iconic 1939 film. The movie will explore the untold story of the witches of Oz, focusing primarily on the unlikely friendship between Glinda, the Good Witch and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, before the events of the original story where they became enemies. This should be an exciting adaptation if the original stage show's amazing soundtrack and production values are anything to go by.

Have LEGO Teased a New WICKED Set Based on The Movie?

LEGO decided to publish the above tweet while the WICKED teaser trailer aired during the Super Bowl. On the surface, it seems like just a fun nod to the lyrics of one of the songs from the musical, but brick fans have naturally begun speculating whether LEGO could be teasing a new set based on the upcoming movie.

We may have to wait until closer to November 2024 to see if the rumours materialise or if the Wicked Witch of the West has played a cunning trick on us.
