The New LEGO Collaboration We DIDN'T See Coming!

It's a World Cup year and as the final countdown gets underway to this summer's tournament in North America, LEGO have unveiled the first official FIFA World Cup sets in a new collaboration.

The iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy is the first to receive the brick-built treatment, with a detailed life-sized replica containing nearly 3,000 pieces. It's part of the LEGO Editions theme, which also includes the nearly life-sized LEGO Soccer Ball (43019).

This set is an essential LEGO bookshelf display for any football fan. It captures the instantly recognisable shape of the FIFA World Cup Trophy perfectly, with bands of green malachite around the base and 'golden' bricks for the 18-karat gold body.

LEGO Editions - Soccer Ball (43019) is also available from March 1st, with pre-orders already open. It's a near-scale replica of the official size 5 ball used in competition, with a black display base to stop it from rolling away!

The design on this one is really interesting, with a soccer ball exterior, six decorated discs on the outside, and a visible interior with a moving micro-scale stadium celebration scene. Press the button to launch the fireworks and make the micro-players jump up and down.

Football fans of all ages will appreciate this build, which has interactivity and secrets to explore inside, but doubles as an almost life-sized LEGO soccer ball display that looks great from across the room.
