Counting Down To London Toy Fair 2023

IDISPLAYIT ARE HEADING DOWN TO THIS YEAR’S EVENT AT THE ICONIC LONDON OLYMPIA EXHIBITION CENTRE

London Toy Fair 2023

How’s your January going? Have you built all those new LEGO sets you got for Christmas? Here at iDisplayit, we’re busy getting packed and ready for this year’s annual London Toy Fair exhibition…

Following a few wild years of Covid cancellations and uncertainty, we attended our first Toy Fair in January 2022. We were excited to get back on the road and finally attend this major trade event, regularly held since 1954.

Officially awarded the “venue of the century”, London Olympia is worth a visit alone, with dazzling high-roofed architecture curving above the enormous exhibition space. This historic venue has hosted numerous events and themed exhibitions over the years, showcasing animals, products, vehicles and even amusement rides.

The Toy Fair 2023 London

The Toy Fair 2023 won’t be our first visit to London Olympia. Last year, we had a fun-filled day out at the LFCC (London Film and Comic Con), where we bumped into Chewbacca, crowned our Roller Derby Champion, and caught sight of celebrities such as David Harbour (Jim Hopper in Stranger Things). You can read all about that particular excursion in our LFCC blog.

Last year’s Toy Fair allowed us to see what other businesses are up to and what they think of our products. In between networking, our marketing manager managed to grab a photo with Pikachu from the Pokémon franchise. You could call it a personal highlight!

Perhaps this year, we’ll find Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle in-between networking with B2B companies to showcase the best way to display toys, LEGO and collectables, with stands, display cases and more on offer.

2023: A Big Year Ahead For LEGO And Collectables

We expect this year’s fair to be dominated by conversation on the big year ahead, with even more Star Wars TV shows coming out and Marvel films to hype over. For us, that means more LEGO and collectable toy sets, leading to more display cases to build. Following the Christmas release of the second Avatar film, we expect to see even more Pandora-themed toys and LEGO sets to look forward to. We think LEGO will continue to surprise us with new releases no one saw coming, such as nostalgic reissues and out-of-the-box creations.

One trend we certainly do not see going away is the enthusiast’s love for the Stranger Things TV series, which we discussed mid-last year in our blog. Chief among speculation was whether LEGO would release more sets from the show and what we could expect to see. This proved one of our most popular articles with readers – take note, LEGO!
